Rigatoni

Rigatoni, originally from the Rome region, are medium-sized Italian tube pasta with straight-cut ends and a ridged surface (from the word “rigato,” meaning ridged). Their wide diameter and textured exterior are perfect for capturing rich, meaty sauces, making them an excellent choice for hearty baked dishes and generous, satisfying meals.

  • Skillet:

    1. Bring water to a rolling boil (2–6 liters depending on quantity), add 1 teaspoon of salt (optional).
    2. Add desired amount of frozen pasta to boiling water. Wait until water returns to a rolling boil and cook for 30 seconds.
    3. Drain and toss pasta in skillet with preheated O Sole Mio sauce. Cook for 2 to 4 minutes, until reaching internal temperature of 162°F (72°C). Add favourite toppings as desired (parmesan, basil, chili, etc.).

    Oven:

    1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
    2. Place 500 g of frozen pasta in baking dish, cover with favourite O Sole Mio sauce or toppings, sprinkle with cheese of choice, and bake for 26 to 30 minutes, until internal temperature of 162°F (72°C) is reached.

    Microwave:

    1. Place 170 g to 215 g of frozen pasta in microwave-safe bowl, add favourite O Sole Mio sauce or toppings, ensuring pasta is fully covered with sauce.
    2. Microwave on high for 2 minutes, mix carefully as product will be hot, and cook for 3 more minutes, until internal temperature of 162°F (72°C) is reached.

    *Heating time may vary between ovens.
