Mission

O’Sole Mio is, at its heart, a family-run company dedicated to bringing the freshest flavours of Italy home to its customers. Our mission is to create ready-to-serve products that are 100% fresh and made from the finest ingredients, which is why Chef Alfredo hand selects all ingredients and prepares his recipes without additives or preservatives.

 

History

The O'Sole Mio name has been associated with the Napolitano family since 1961, when they opened their first pizzeria and became importers of Italian products. The name stayed with them up until 1978, when they opened the Casa Napoli restaurant in Montreal's Little Italy.

Chef Alfredo Napolitano reinvented the O'Sole Mio brand in the early 90s when he decided to market his line of fresh pasta and sauces. Working out of the Casa Napoli kitchen, Alfredo's products were shipped to Provigo where they became an instant success. Between 1994 and 1997, sales hit the roof! The demand was so great in fact that the orders could no longer be filled from inside the restaurant.

In 1998, O'Sole Mio moved its operations to an 10,000 square foot manufacturing plant in Boisbriand, Quebec. Today, this plant employs over 100 people and has grown to 48,000 square feet. Another planned expansion is in the works for 2013, which would see the plant more than triple in size. From Boisbriand, O'Sole Mio products are shipped to all the big Quebec grocery stores as well as everywhere in Canada, the United States and Mexico.
